PEP Therapy
Pep Therapy are short chains of amino acids, which are the same building blocks that make up proteins in the body.
Think of pep as messengers.
Instead of doing the work themselves, peptides signal cells to:
-
turn certain processes on or off
-
respond to changes in the body
-
communicate with other cells
When a pep binds to a specific receptor on a cell, it sends a message kind of like a key fitting into a lock. That message tells the cell how to respond.
Different peps send different messages, which is why each pep is studied for different biological roles.
