Tretinoin is the generic term for a synthetic, first-generation form of all-trans-retinoic acid. It was first introduced in dermatology in the 1960s and is FDA-approved for acne treatment. In certain other FDA-approved formulations (which does not apply to our tretinoin products), it can also be used as part of a complete skincare routine with sun protection to help reduce fine facial wrinkles.
